The Event
Warwick University was in 2010 the setting for one of the most popular events in the Headway year.  The Way Ahead conference provides an opportunity for Headway members to get together to learn, exchange views and ideas as well as significant social interaction.  In 2010 some 250 delegates attended including 22 from the north-east who found the mix of seminars, workshops and a glass of beer or wine enjoyable and beneficial.

The Reason
It would be nice if all those interested could take part but this is obviously not possible.  But, if people can't get to the National event then why can't an event come to them?  With this in mind Look Ahead in the North was born.  The first Look Ahead in the North was held in March 2011 and was a major success.  Pressure from those who attended ensured a further event in 2012.  The event is not designed to replace The Way Ahead event but to demonstrate the benefits of the conference and to encourage more from the NE to attend.
